Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League concluded the 2024 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore for North American players born predominantly in 2008. The annual Priority Selection was held online over a span of two days, with a total of 302 players were selected in the 15-round process from 78 different programs. The selected players included 170 forwards, 102 defencemen, and 30 goaltenders. A total of 298 of the players chosen were 2008-born athletes while two were born in 2007 and two were born in 2006.

The 2024 ALLIANCE Hockey Championships wrapped up this past weekend with a total of 57 Champion and Finalist teams crowned. Sincere appreciation goes out to all Hosts, Associations and volunteers who assisted in providing events and memorable experiences for all those involved.

BACKGROUND The process for the Vulnerable Sector Checks will be centralized and conducted by the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) for all Team Officials and Team Personnel as of the 2024-25 season. This is in addition to the screening of all On-Ice Officials that has been in place for the past number of years.

The 2024 U18 AAA All-Ontario Central Regional Championships are underway this week in Sault Ste. Marie with the Championship-winning Waterloo Wolves representing ALLIANCE Hockey! But they aren't the only group to make the northerly trek as two of ALLIANCE Hockey's top officials; Jake Gansevles and Jordan Guberman are also participating as part of the 2024 Officiating crew.
