ALLIANCE Hockey Officials! Please note: The wearing of a BNQ approved throat protector will be mandatory for all ALLIANCE Hockey HCOP on-ice Officials commencing with the 2010-2011 season, effective September 1, 2010.
With this in mind, Pete`s Sports is pleased to assist ALLIANCE Hockey Officials with the purchase of their neck guards for the upcoming season. The neck guard they are offering is the Bauer One Piece with a price of $45.00 (taxes in). All orders need to be placed a minimum of two weeks in advance of your clinic and then your purchase will be delivered directly to you at your recertification clinic. Note: All London Referee Group Officials will also have the option to purchase their neck guard directly at the Pete`s Sports store location.
New Officials Individuals interested in getting started in the Referee Program should contact their local Referee Association for information on becoming a referee in their centre. Clinics specifically designed for New Officials will be scheduled for October 2010 based on the needs of our membership. Once you become registered with your local Referee Association, they will send you to a new referee clinic. Please note: Recertification clinics are for currently certified HCOP officials only. 2010-2011 Referee Recertification The 2010-2011 Recertification packages will be mailed out to all 2009-2010 ALLIANCE Hockey registered officials during the 2nd and 3rd weeks of July.
The packages include information relating to recertification clinics, registration, crossovers and general officiating in the ALLIANCE. If you have moved or are planning to move please ensure that the ALLIANCE Hockey Office (referee@alliancehockey.com) has received record of your updated information.
*IMPORTANT: - Police Record Checks All officials, supervisors and instructors who are 18 years of age or older (as of September 1, 2010) are required to submit a current Police Record Check in order to officiate, supervise or instruct. Once the individual has been cleared, a Police Record Check will be required every 4 years. Police Record Checks should not be more than 4 months old when submitted.

Obtain a Police Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) -
Place the Police Record Check in a sealed envelope -
Write your "name" and "Police Record Check" on the envelope -
Deliver envelope to your Certification / Recertification Clinic Administrator
PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED INTO ANY RECERTIFICATION CLINIC WITHOUT A POLICE RECORD CHECK (WHERE APPLICABLE)
CRIMINAL OFFENSE DECLARATION FORM:
Any Official who submitted a valid Police Record Check during the 2009-2010 season will be required to complete a Criminal Offense Declaration Form at their recertification clinic. The form is used to indicate whether or not changes have occurred since their original PRC was submitted. All Crossover Officials will need to complete the Criminal Offense Declaration form as well, indicating which Member Partner they originally submitted their PRC to.
ALLIANCE HOCKEY POLICY AND PROCEDURES FOR POLICE RECORD CHECKS
ALLIANCE Hockey is a Member Partner of the Ontario Hockey Federation. In conjunction with the OHF Risk Management Policies, ALLIANCE Hockey was mandated to provide a Policy and Procedures for Police Record Checks.
As per the OHF and ALLIANCE Hockey Speak Out Policy Handbook will be the need for all adult on-ice officials to provide Police Record Checks at the recertification clinics. All officials, supervisors and instructors who are 18 years of age or older will require a police record check in order to officiate, supervise or instruct. Once the individual has been cleared, a Police Record Check will be required every four (4) years. These Police Record Checks should not be more than 4 months old when submitted.
